Caitríona Ní Mhurchú
Actor | Writer Aisteoir | Scríbhneoir
Television
When barely out of short-pants Caitríona was the last of RTÉ’s In-Vision announcers. She ensured her family’s eternal happiness by appearing on Christmas Day, resplendent in red and diamante. And guaranteed the public’s ire for going on-air minus shamrock on Paddy’s Day - a minor broadcasting scandal which saw the denizens of Dublin dropping bowls of shamrock around in their dozens. She also appeared in Nighthawks, The Den & Secrets with broadcasting legends Gerry Ryan & Dave Fanning.
She left the glamour of Montrose to pursue a career in acting but was easily enticed back when between jobs to script write and script edit Ag Bruith don Bhanraíon, a children’s cookery programme for TG4. A whirlwind of script editor & script writer opportunities followed, covering everything from Spongebob Squarepants (writer/performer) to The Muppet Show and a million other cartoons in between.
Meanwhile The Farm asked her to direct and produce Duel Masters for TG4, the usual duties were incurred including casting, timelining, budget, script supervision scheduling and coffee making. She also directed and produced two series of Teen Titans to a very tight schedule.
She recently finished working on a Wallace and Gromit project as a voice-over artist with Lime Street Studios and Macalla.
